I can't install the game because it says there's something wrong with it, it says i need a new fresh copy, and my boyfriend is having the same problem on his pc too, what can i do?

Um, have you tried re-downloading? XD
Other than that, at which stage are you having problems? If you can't run the patches, have you tried these steps? Maybe it's a permission error or something.
