Lol, because in Night forest, the ground is yellow, with gold aura. my eyes hurt after i played for several hours! lol

I don't remember the colors they used, but in retail before 1.8 the colors were different than they are now. Wouldn't be surprised if there are more colors in their to play with. My complaint if any would be that the current colors are a bit similar.

I would say, make all no colour, so we gotta see every loot we got on mobs :P Enjoy the gameplay isnt it! LOL

@fish: The colors were:
Normal: blue
Rare: gold

New one is:
Normal: green
Rare: blue

Newest
Normal: No colour
Rare: No colour


U gotta enjoy the gameplay with seeing loots. not looking at the colours of the loot! lol

The reason i wanted is:

Blue color = Cold = Bad loot.
Red Color = Hot = Good Loot.

And also is better to view, because the green isn't nice to see xD

in retail/official

common loots = blue aura box

unique loots = golden/yellow aura box

epic = purple aura box
